Playing Wolfzone Early Access Version

When you first run the game, you will be prompted to create a new profile and at least to select an alias.

Play choice allows you to start a new game.


Start a game

You can now define some settings like players count or game time limit, and select Start server to begin the game session.


Load selected map

When the map is loaded and ready to play, you start as spectator.

Press "L" key to access inventory menu.

On the upper left, there is 3 primary slots, and 5 secondary slots below. You can fill these slots with any mix of weapons you want, there is no restriction.

Primary weapons can be selected with 1, 2 and 3 keys, Secondary weapons can be selected with keys 4 to 8.

To assign a weapon to a slot, just drag and drop the weapon from the list to the slot you want it will be assigned.


Append a weapon

If you want to move a weapon to another slot, just drag and drop it from the slot in which it is assigned to the slot where you want to put it.


Change weapon assignment

When you have selected and assigned all weapons you want to use, the last step is to choose a team either the Blue or the Green team, and then click OK button.

Once you have clicked OK, You will spawn into the map at a random spot and you can start playing.

Note: If you want to make changes in your inventory when you are playing, this is the same process, use "L" key, make your changes and then click OK button.

You can use some keys to begin fighting:

  • F6 Add a Blue team bot
  • F7 Add a Green Team bot

You can't fight against bot in the same team as you.

To switch between the first and third person, use F12 key.

Even at the smallest skill, bots are deadly if you don't move fast enough, so you can switch to invulnerable mode with F5 key.

When game time ends, the game will restart and you and all bots which you had played with will spawn again few seconds later.

Remember that Wolfzone is a mod for Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. So, you have to install Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory before playing with Wolfzone mod.

If you don't have software to unpack compressed files, you can use 7-Zip. 7-Zip is a powerful and open source program who can handle almost all type of compressed file formats and support advanced features. You can download it at:

Then run file explorer and choose the folder where you want to unpack Wolfzone installation file. Create the folder if necessary, for example: C:\games.

Unpack the archive into the selected folder. A Wolfzone folder will be created and all files will be contained into it except PAK0.PK3 file you have to copy from Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory folder

PAK0.PK3 must be copied to etmain folder of wolfzone folder.

Then create a shortcut to access the game quickly by dragging and dropping ZONE.EXE file contained in the wolfzone folder while holding down both CTRL and SHIFT keys.

To avoid security alert each type you run the game, you can change shortcut properties. Click on the shortcut with right mouse button, then select Properties.

Set the case Run as administrator checked.

Installation is done, you can run the game.
